i have the default libreoffice 5.1 installed on Ubuntu 16.04, and would like to install 5.3. I have found a .deb on the libreoffice website, but would installing it conflict with the libreoffice I already have installed
myke 2017-02-01 11:14:57
hello is there a free font that includes deer (unicode U+1F98C) ? this codepoint was only added last year in unicode 9.0
xangua 2017-02-01 11:24:23
Guy1524: if you install the Deb you first need to uninstall LibreOffice, yes; I've read there is also a snap package and there is also the LibreOffice PPA repository
Guy1524 2017-02-01 11:24:39
xangua: I have tried it, and it didn't brake anything
Guy1524 2017-02-01 11:24:46
it installs seperately from my libreoffice package
xangua 2017-02-01 11:24:54
Good
Guy1524 2017-02-01 11:24:55

Guy1524 2017-02-01 11:24:58

COSL04X 2017-02-01 11:34:34

krkan_5253: For information on registering your IRC nick, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InternetRelayChat/Registration - For any further help, ask in #freenode.
COSL04X 2017-02-01 11:34:41
once you do that you can join restricted channels
krkan_5253 2017-02-01 11:34:54
thanks guys
k1l 2017-02-01 11:34:56
to join a channel do "/join #channelname" some channels request you register with freenode first. so ask in #freenode for help

does setting compactionthroughput affect existing compactions?
Pici 2017-02-01 11:39:40
anonV: you have a few choices: 1) install the python-numpy package via apt 2) install it in a virtualenv 3) pass the --user switch to pip to install it to your users home.
k1l 2017-02-01 11:39:57
!info python-numpy
ubottu 2017-02-01 11:39:57
python-numpy (source: python-numpy): Numerical Python adds a fast array facility to the Python language. In component main, is optional. Version 1:1.11.1~rc1-1ubuntu1 (yakkety), package size 1744 kB, installed size 9486 kB
Pici 2017-02-01 11:40:26
anonV: Do *not* use sudo to install anything with pip. It will cause many headaches later.
anonV 2017-02-01 11:40:47
ok
Krkan 2017-02-01 11:41:31
i sucessfully registered thanks guys and peace
anonV 2017-02-01 11:41:32
so best way is to use it in a virtualenv ?
Pici 2017-02-01 11:42:17
anonV: Well thats the best practice for installing most python packages.
Pici 2017-02-01 11:43:25
anonV: fyi, theres also #python here on freenode, they're very helpful there if you need more python related help.
