xCykrix 2017-02-25 23:45:42
tatertots, all I get is "DHCPDISCOVER on long_device_string to 255.255.255.255 port 67 interval (xid=0x550cee77)
k1l 2017-02-25 23:45:52
murray1: well, if you use heavy program slike firefox 1gb is not that much
murray1 2017-02-25 23:46:15
I suppose, maybe
murray1 2017-02-25 23:46:31
the performance seems to fluctuate seemingly randomly though
k1l 2017-02-25 23:46:43
murray1: using swap? look with "free -h"
cfhowlett 2017-02-25 23:47:13
murray1, what exactly is lagging
tatertots 2017-02-25 23:47:26
xCykrix: in terminal> rfkill list
cfhowlett 2017-02-25 23:47:30
and swap would be a great idea for you.
tatertots 2017-02-25 23:47:40
xCykrix: are you blocked on any level?
k1l 2017-02-25 23:47:44
swap is a reason why its lagging. since swap is slow
murray1 2017-02-25 23:47:51
For example firefox was hanging earlier, couldn't click anything or move the window. It's fine atm though
hargut 2017-02-25 23:47:57
Hello.
xCykrix 2017-02-25 23:48:52
tatertots, cant use that, not installed
xCykrix 2017-02-25 23:48:57
however i'm using root
xCykrix 2017-02-25 23:49:16
so I would assume not
murray1 2017-02-25 23:50:46
k1l: Yep, http://paste.ubuntu.com/24070874/
hargut 2017-02-25 23:50:46
I've just done a apt-get dist-upgrade to move to 16.04.2, which worked nicely, but I've still kernel 4.4 active. I'd like to get 4.8, but what is the right meta package to use instead of linux-image-generic to update 16.04.2 to 4.8 series?
k1l 2017-02-25 23:50:46

ubottu 2017-02-25 23:50:46
hargut: The Ubuntu LTS enablement stacks provide newer kernel and X support for existing LTS releases, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack
k1l 2017-02-25 23:50:46
hargut: read the article, no automatic change onto the hwe kernel path. you need to install that package mentioned there
hargut 2017-02-25 23:50:46
k1l: Is hwe the default during install? I thought I've seen last week a 4.8 during a fresh 16.04.2 install. Or did I mix something up here?
tatertots 2017-02-25 23:50:46
xCykrix: iw dev wlxc05627e46438 scan
hargut 2017-02-25 23:50:46
k1l: Thanks! :-)
tatertots 2017-02-25 23:50:46
xCykrix: if it does not show anything OR If it displays Interface does not support scanning, then you probably forgot to install the firmware. In some cases this message is also displayed when not running iw as root.
xCykrix 2017-02-25 23:51:57
tatertots, "command failed: no such device (-19)
tatertots 2017-02-25 23:52:50
xCykrix: well you'll need to install some things....your previous experience with any other adapter and what you may or may have not had to install...you can throw that out the window
xCykrix 2017-02-25 23:53:46
rip. I think I have the install disc for it somewhere
xCykrix 2017-02-25 23:53:51
but I have no clue how to run it in CLI
tatertots 2017-02-25 23:53:52
xCykrix: sorry if that was too blunt but...
vibes22 2017-02-25 23:54:02
New here pls forgive me for asking
tatertots 2017-02-25 23:57:48
xCykrix: and yes that would require a temporary wired network connection
xCykrix 2017-02-25 23:59:03
Will that be all i need?
xCykrix 2017-02-25 23:59:10
because I don't want to have to move it more than once lol
xCykrix 2017-02-25 23:59:26
actually, i might just be able to SSH into it once its out there
tatertots 2017-02-26 00:00:57
xCykrix: iw commands are nice so you might want to ensure you can use those
tatertots 2017-02-26 00:19:48
xCykrix: you'll need to connect to you wlan in terminal.....if you are unsure how to go about that ...i can PM you some wiki material
xCykrix 2017-02-26 00:20:43
Yeah, no clue lol
xCykrix 2017-02-26 00:23:50
tatertots, if you could dm me those or help explain that'd be appriciated :)
tatertots 2017-02-26 00:23:56
xCykrix: or i'm sure some other here can point you to some ubuntu "branded" wiki material on the discipline/subject matter....you might ask for the ubuntu branded stuff explicitly first...these guys like to ban people for posting non ubuntu brand material as a reference for newbies...it gets all political around here if you do stuff like that...but if you don't get any responses just pm me
xCykrix 2017-02-26 00:25:18
I'm sure I could find stuff on google with it

Nilesh_ 2017-02-26 00:39:17
is there any package to install TensorFlow on ubuntu?
Nilesh_ 2017-02-26 00:39:37
apt-cache didn't return anything
tatertots 2017-02-26 00:40:09
Nilesh_: have you consulted the software vendor's website?
Nilesh_ 2017-02-26 00:40:46
tatertots: no....whom should I consult to?
xCykrix 2017-02-26 00:41:11
https://www.tensorflow.org/install/install_linux
xCykrix 2017-02-26 00:41:15

Nilesh_ 2017-02-26 00:42:04
