EriC^^ 2017-03-05 13:49:01
texla: no, make sure the filename is still the same
ctindel 2017-03-05 13:50:07

texla: try the sudo sed command above, then sudo update-grub
Guy1524 2017-03-05 14:00:30
I have extensively searched google for an answer to this, and have asked on r/arma, to no avail so this is my last resort, I am trying to run a dedicated Arma 2 OA server on Ubuntu 16.04, I have successully installed it however when I run the server I get a segfault in glibc
texla 2017-03-05 14:00:50
EriC^^, ray@ray-Kudu-Pro:~$ sudo sed -i '/^o$/d' /etc/default/grub
texla 2017-03-05 14:00:50
ray@ray-Kudu-Pro:~$
Guy1524 2017-03-05 14:00:50
here is my console output: http://paste.ubuntu.com/24121306/
EriC^^ 2017-03-05 14:00:50

EriC^^ 2017-03-05 14:00:55
try sudo update-grub
Guy1524 2017-03-05 14:01:44
and here is my backtrace through gdb: http://paste.ubuntu.com/24121859/
Guy1524 2017-03-05 14:02:04
my guess is that the program relies on an older version of gdb
texla 2017-03-05 14:02:11
EriC^^, /usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig: 37: /etc/default/grub: ^o: not found
EriC^^ 2017-03-05 14:02:36
texla: cat /etc/default/grub | nc termbin.com 9999
EriC^^ 2017-03-05 14:02:50
let's see what it has now
barkingvenice 2017-03-05 14:03:20
dopamin drink... - is this kosher?
KalEl 2017-03-05 14:03:23
is it safe to remove the ~/Desktop directory?
KalEl 2017-03-05 14:03:47
And the Pictures, Public, Template, Videos, Document, Downloads, Music directories
EriC^^ 2017-03-05 14:03:50
KalEl: i think it breaks the actual desktop somehow iirc
EriC^^ 2017-03-05 14:04:05
in unity at least
barkingvenice 2017-03-05 14:05:09
KalEl, why not move that to another location and see if "anyone" complains? (it may break your system if critical apps: ie booting - use it)
KalEl 2017-03-05 14:05:18
Ok thanks
OerHeks 2017-03-05 14:05:44
Guy1524, steam? delete your Arma2OA.cfg > https://steamcommunity.com/app/33930/discussions/0/540742485358480344/
KalEl 2017-03-05 14:05:56
I was pondering if there is any way to keep only what I need, so that it makes backup of the home directory simple
texla 2017-03-05 14:06:32
EriC^^, http://termbin.com/bu94
EriC^^ 2017-03-05 14:06:32
KalEl: make a script to back up your files
KalEl 2017-03-05 14:06:33
If those are empty directories I might as well keep them and avoid them.
Guy1524 2017-03-05 14:06:36
OerHeks: this is not through steam
Guy1524 2017-03-05 14:06:40
ill try moving it
KalEl 2017-03-05 14:06:52
Ok
Guy1524 2017-03-05 14:07:19
same error
Guy1524 2017-03-05 14:07:40
i suspect it is using an older version of glibc
Guy1524 2017-03-05 14:07:46
and the new one probably breaks it
Guest71907 2017-03-05 14:07:55
