I dunno, just curious how easy it is to change versions.
RonWhoCares 2017-03-08 02:52:03
XXXfce: You could do it in terminal without an issue, with an Internet connection
XXXfce 2017-03-08 02:53:03
This computer behaves differently than my kubuntu computer with xfce installed later.

Hello, i have the official bootloader unlock software of my mobile. It consist only of a very small set of bats and a fastboot exe meant to run in windows. is it posible to port this to ubuntu so i can unlock my phone from my ubuntu computer? This is the link of the download from BQ http://www.mibqyyo.com/descargas/2015/11/23/desbloqueo-del-bootloader/ (is only 600kb) in case some expert can take a look and tell me if could run this

Hi k1l_
RonWhoCares 2017-03-08 03:04:59
k1l_: I am having a new error. Is there a simple explanation / resolution @ http://askubuntu.com/questions/890891
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:06:00
RonWhoCares: did you manually remove kernel stuff on your system?
RonWhoCares 2017-03-08 03:06:20
no
RonWhoCares 2017-03-08 03:07:05
k1l_: Should I?
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:07:50
RonWhoCares: no. that is what the error says
RonWhoCares 2017-03-08 03:15:41
k1l_: http://termbin.com/umck
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:16:23
RonWhoCares: ok, that is the issue. you did put the "intel_idle.max_cstate=1" manually there and it is totally at the wrong palce.
RonWhoCares 2017-03-08 03:16:47
k1l_: AHH! Yes. That was from our dialogue a few days ago. Where should it be?
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:17:16
RonWhoCares: "sudo nano /etc/default/grub" then put the intel_idle.max_cstate=1 into the " " at the line before.
professor_sadasd 2017-03-08 03:17:45
Did anyone's sound stop working recently?
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:17:46
RonWhoCares: after that run "sudo apt install -f" and a "sudo update-grub" after that
professor_sadasd 2017-03-08 03:17:49
from an update?
anddam 2017-03-08 03:22:39
mcphail: wanna laugh? the web app support shift-enter for that, I was going mad with U+000D et al.
RonWhoCares 2017-03-08 03:22:43
k1l_: Look at lines 17 , 19-22 @ http://pastebin.com/PYNDE96C

hey guys, I'm trying to interpret oom-killer logs from `dmesg`, but having a hard time. Can anybody help me explain why the oom-killer killed the process? https://gist.github.com/TvL2386/6dd00e62bf6a1c7afc373df9fc03c226
mcphail 2017-03-08 03:23:12
anddam: ha!
anddam 2017-03-08 03:23:37
mcphail: any chance you're the autofs resident in da house?
TvL2386 2017-03-08 03:23:50
what I'm trying to find out is how much RAM the process that got killed used and what the memory used/free status was at the moment
KOF2000-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:33:33
how to fix this
KOF2000-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:33:58
runing 16.04
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:34:05
KOF2000-DEAD: well, since you dont login at startup but use autologin this is the expected behaviour.
KOF2000-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:34:22
yes have read it online but no solution for 16.04
KOF2000-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:34:26
what i can find
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:35:02
KOF2000-DEAD: so you want to make all passwords used by that user can be read by anyone?
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:35:09
*everyone
KaiForce 2017-03-08 03:37:06
KOF2000-DEAD: turn off autologon, and enter your password when you log in
KOF200-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:38:21
???
KOF200-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:38:21
how to fix this
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:38:21
KOF2000-DEAD: so you want to make all passwords used by that user can be read by anyone?
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:38:21
*everyone
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:38:21
KOF200-DEAD: what you get there is not bug. its a security feature.
KOF200-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:38:21
i am the only user
KOF200-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:38:21
understand what you mean
anddam 2017-03-08 03:38:21
mcphail: too bad, I got autofs working but the subdirectories are not shown at fs level, that is by 'ls /nfs'
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:38:21
doesnt matter. with that settings disabled everyone can read your passwords from that on.
KOF200-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:38:21
there is only 1 user and that is me
anddam 2017-03-08 03:38:21
mcphail: I hoped someone would come out with "oh it's simple you just add the -show_on_fs=yes option to the config, but so far no luck. Seems autofs doesn't get much love around
KOF200-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:38:21
how to do it
KaiForce 2017-03-08 03:38:30
KOF200-DEAD: Either enter it at logon, or enter it later. Your choice.
KOF200-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:38:44
no other way
bekks 2017-03-08 03:39:10
KOF200-DEAD: No.
william_8086xi 2017-03-08 03:40:04
IDten -T error
TvL2386 2017-03-08 03:40:22
KaiForce, do `sudo pstree -pa | less` you can see the hierarchy of processes
KOF200-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:41:14
ok
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:43:46
KOF200-DEAD: i guess you can try to set your password to blank. look at the password and keys in system settings
KOF200-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:43:46
let me think
k1l_ 2017-03-08 03:43:46
KOF200-DEAD: but as already said, this is meant to happen to ask for the password.
KOF200-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:43:46
maby it is good like this
KOF200-DEAD 2017-03-08 03:43:46
