how do i download the entire video by right clicign it, and the the video is buffered, nad then i can download it ?
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:45:24
is tehre any web app or somethign lie that , that can help me in my queest?
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:45:30
I have been trying a lot/
ducasse 2017-03-09 06:45:32
theparadoxer02: i would just chown/chmod as necessary (and possibly define mountpoints in fstab).
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:45:37
but to no avail ducasse hi
ducasse 2017-03-09 06:46:25
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf: download from where? there's youtube-dl for youtube and certain other sites.
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:46:45
no from internet sites by right click
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:47:03
not hte youtube0dl way as it downloads the entire video al the way gain
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:47:06
again
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:47:24
more like the real playre way on teh windows, but on linux this tim
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:48:10
it's almost impossible to extract the video from your browser cache. most if not all methods require re-downloading the video even those implemented as browser addon
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:48:26
so if you have an expensive data plan or a very slow connection, sorry, but that just sucks
brunch875 2017-03-09 06:48:27
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf: If a video is embedded, you can right click / download video just like on windows
brunch875 2017-03-09 06:48:37
the plugins for the browser should be the same
theparadoxer02 2017-03-09 06:48:55
ducasse, working
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:49:01
brunch875: true if it's a plain html5 player, but it would redownload the video
brunch875 2017-03-09 06:49:20
Peetz0r: but the behaviour is the same in any OS, right?
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:49:23
brunch875: i can't as there is no option
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:49:28
brunch875: I would think so
brunch875 2017-03-09 06:49:35
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf: then there is no option in windows either
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:49:46
no there is the real player option
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:49:47
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf: is it a video that has been removed while you were watching it or something?
brunch875 2017-03-09 06:49:49
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf: your best option is youtube-dl, followed by browser plugins
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:50:14
Peetz0r: no, just download it from the browser itself
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:50:23
which addons brunch875
wormmus 2017-03-09 06:50:24
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf, Do you have Tampermonkey?
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:50:32
tampermonkey addon?
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:50:34
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf: in most cases, youtube-dl is really your best bet. you may get an estimate of the filesize before downloading and you may even manually select the quality depending on the website
wormmus 2017-03-09 06:50:36
yeah
brunch875 2017-03-09 06:50:39
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf: I do not know, since I use youtube-dl
svg0 2017-03-09 06:50:47
I'm trying to set up xubuntu in virtualbox on an offline machine and I seem to be in a catch-22, I need shared folders working in order to update anything but I can't install the guest additions to enable them
wormmus 2017-03-09 06:50:51
get Tampermonkey, and use this: https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/1317-download-youtube-videos-as-mp4

theparadoxer02: what is that a listing of?
theparadoxer02 2017-03-09 06:52:01
ducasse, /media
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:52:03
Peetz0r: ok but how do I get an estimate of hte file size/
kfkfkfkfkfldsldf 2017-03-09 06:52:06
before downloading
wormmus 2017-03-09 06:52:20
it shows in the download options
ducasse 2017-03-09 06:52:40
theparadoxer02: chown the contents of the drives, see the link ubottu provided earlier
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:52:46
try using -F
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:53:01
example, https://paste.sigio.nl/playcczjb
wormmus 2017-03-09 06:54:13
how can I get a second drive that's physically in my computer to show up in the file manager like the removable drives are?
theparadoxer02 2017-03-09 06:54:50
ducasse, this one https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FilePermissions ?
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:55:13
wormmus: maybe with an option in fstab
ducasse 2017-03-09 06:55:15
theparadoxer02: yes.
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:55:57
wormmus: is it an internal-but-removable drive in spomething like a ThinkPad Ultrabay harddisk adapter?
turista 2017-03-09 06:57:03
hello every1, anyone know how to change the cursor priority?¿
wormmus 2017-03-09 06:57:19
it's straight internal sata. I run an SSD for my boot drive and I use a SATA drive as Storage and a Drive Bay for my backup.
turista 2017-03-09 06:57:30
because I did set up the red glass cursor but it does not shown because the priority of the automatic one
wormmus 2017-03-09 06:58:19
I'd just like to be able to see Storage on that left panel, that way I don't have to go to [ + Other Locations ] all the time.
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:58:45
wormmus: just add it as a bookmark then?
wormmus 2017-03-09 06:58:53
can't
Peetz0r 2017-03-09 06:59:04
why not? works for me...
wormmus 2017-03-09 06:59:32
No right click option and can't drag it. (Using Ubuntu Gnome)
szb 2017-03-09 07:00:43
wormmus, not sure where the option is in nautilus' headerbar, but try opening Storage and then press using Ctrl+D
wormmus 2017-03-09 07:01:27
okay...after more investigating, had to do the 3 dash deal
betao 2017-03-09 07:01:41
lol
wormmus 2017-03-09 07:01:43
thanks
brimestone 2017-03-09 07:01:54
hey guys, I'm a bit confused with Apache2, I changed the directory path of the DocumentRoot and now im getting "You don't have permission to access / on this server." I've already change the persmission for the entire path to 777 and still getting the same error
theparadoxer02 2017-03-09 07:02:48
ducasse, its not the matter of content on the that drive
theparadoxer02 2017-03-09 07:03:45
after mounting the device and right clicking on the content area, the paster option is showing faded
theparadoxer02 2017-03-09 07:03:53
which means non working
ducasse 2017-03-09 07:04:40
theparadoxer02: then you haven't changed ownership or permissions for the root of that filesystem.
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:04:52
I'm planning to move my /boot/efi partition, as I want to free some space up
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:05:09
idea is to back it up via dd (the whole drive and just that partition)
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:05:41
then delete the last 2-3 partitions, re-create a partition for freespace and expand the n-1 partition
w9qbj 2017-03-09 07:05:51
\
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:05:54
then in the remaining final free space, replace that as the /boot/efi part.
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:06:02
Thoughts anyone?
nacc 2017-03-09 07:06:34
brimestone: you really don't want to make served directories 777
brimestone 2017-03-09 07:06:56
Yes, but even at 777, im still getting permission error..
theparadoxer02 2017-03-09 07:07:15
ducasse, I ran the following command
nacc 2017-03-09 07:07:17
brimestone: did you look in your apache logs?
theparadoxer02 2017-03-09 07:07:25
sudo chmod 777 /media
ducasse 2017-03-09 07:07:37
michael_mbp: you might need to modify the efi firmware variables to point to the new efi system partition
theparadoxer02 2017-03-09 07:07:45
sudo chmod 777 /media/abhi/
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:08:12
ducasse: with regards to ubuntu where are those stored?
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:08:25
in grub or...?
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:08:32
*grub config I mean.
ducasse 2017-03-09 07:08:46
michael_mbp: in the efi firmware
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:09:15
ducasse: ah! on the next reboot, I can do that in the Asus EFI.
ducasse 2017-03-09 07:09:33
michael_mbp: or just use efibootmgr from ubuntu.
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:09:37
(assuming it auto-detects everything).
brimestone 2017-03-09 07:09:37
yes, logs shows this "client denied by server configuration: /media/array/favicon.ico"
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:09:45
oh cheers
michael_mbp 2017-03-09 07:11:47
ducasse: would I need to also run grub-update?
nacc 2017-03-09 07:11:58
brimestone: and is that file readable?
ducasse 2017-03-09 07:13:22
michael_mbp: probably, it depends on exactly how you do this.
theparadoxer02 2017-03-09 07:13:25
ducasse, it is still faded
theparadoxer02 2017-03-09 07:13:25
the paster option
nacc 2017-03-09 07:13:25
theparadoxer02: none of those are the mountpoint, afaict
ducasse 2017-03-09 07:13:28
theparadoxer02: those will change the permissions of /media and /media/abhi, which is not what you want. first, go to the root of the filesystem in question (/media/abhi/whatever), then use chown, not chmod.
nacc 2017-03-09 07:13:31
theparadoxer02: you are changing permissions along the path
nacc 2017-03-09 07:13:40
theparadoxer02: and you are not changing the permissions of themount point
brimestone 2017-03-09 07:13:48
yes... file is 777
ducasse 2017-03-09 07:14:08
theparadoxer02: you should read the link from ubottu more thoroughly.
