Hi all,
bennyboy 2017-01-26 18:49:12
I have a question
bennyboy 2017-01-26 18:49:15
Could you take a quantum computer and some how train it to program a computer? Seeing how the architecture of a quantum computer is fundamentally different to a typical binary computer is you could theoretically set up a neural net work wherein the task you want programmed is the carrot and the quantum computer finds the most efficient sequence of ones and zeros to complete the task. You could potentially design a test circuit to em

xinput also didn't help in increasing the scrolling speed. Someone has any other suggestion to increase the scrolling speed?
Joral 2017-01-26 19:07:58
I just installed 14.04.5 and I get an error when trying to install fglrx-updates
blackbeard21 2017-01-26 19:22:01
What error do you get?
Joral 2017-01-26 19:23:30
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. hello all
xangua 2017-01-26 19:25:10
Joral: run sudo apt-get update, try again
Joral 2017-01-26 19:25:27
xangua, I have three times :(
Joral 2017-01-26 19:26:43
also in additional drivers if I choose the option for fglrx-updates and click save changes it acts likes it changing then just flashes and puts the selection button back on the ubuntu default
lotuspsychje 2017-01-26 19:27:07
Joral: have you added ppa's of any kind?
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:27:09
Joral: isn't unity-control-center already installed?
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:27:15
Are you not using ubuntu?
Joral 2017-01-26 19:27:43
havn't done anything but 1) install the system 2) update the system and 3) attempt to install fglrx
cfhowlett 2017-01-26 19:28:12
Joral, in a terminal: inxi -F | pastebinit
Joral 2017-01-26 19:29:31
well I at least know that apt works as I just installed inxi and pastebinit, stand by for me to run the command again
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:29:50
Joral, what's the output of `apt policy unity-control-center`?
Joral 2017-01-26 19:29:54
http://paste.ubuntu.com/23873479/
cfhowlett 2017-01-26 19:31:04
Joral, suggest you upgrade all available packages: sudo apt full-upgrade
Joral 2017-01-26 19:31:17
apt policy unity-control-center E: Invalid operation policy
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:31:34
apt-cache policy unity-control-center, then
Joral 2017-01-26 19:32:50
full update did not solve it but here is the policy infohttp://paste.ubuntu.com/23873485/
omenius 2017-01-26 19:33:37
someone here using tmux with tmux-rescurrent (and maybe even continuum). Just installed plugins and made .tmux.conf file, but rescurrent won't work even remotely
Joral 2017-01-26 19:33:44
I meant full-upgrade (thats what I did just not what I said
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:33:45
and the output of: apt-cache policy libcheese-gtk23 ?
omenius 2017-01-26 19:34:18
doing hotkey+ctrl+s and then hotkey+ctrl+r just echos "Tmux resurrect file not found!", so I't won't even work without reboot

alkisg 2017-01-26 19:36:06
!info libcheese-gtk23 trusty
ubottu 2017-01-26 19:36:09
libcheese-gtk23 (source: cheese): tool to take pictures and videos from your webcam - widgets. In component main, is optional. Version 3.10.2-0ubuntu2 (trusty), package size 24 kB, installed size 312 kB
Joral 2017-01-26 19:36:36
why is fglrx pulling it then?
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:37:25
Joral: your initial message about fglrx dependencies and error messages was cut off, can you post that one to pastebin too?
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:37:35
"the following packages have unmet dependencies: unity-control-center : Depends: libcheese-gtk23 (>= 3.4.0) but it is not going to be installed " etc etc
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:38:00
Because your libcheese-gtk23 is already >= 3.4.0, so that doesn't make sense...
Joral 2017-01-26 19:38:10
http://paste.ubuntu.com/23873497/
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:39:02
Joral: what is your version of libcheese7? dpkg -l libcheese7
Joral 2017-01-26 19:39:28
3.10.2
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:39:45
Does that start with "ii" in front? I.e. properly installed?
Joral 2017-01-26 19:40:18
yes it says ii libchese7...
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:40:28
That doesn't make sense then...
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:40:34
Hrm. Can you try with aptitude instead?
Joral 2017-01-26 19:40:48
why is fglrx "depending" on a web cam library at all?
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:40:55
sudo apt-get install aptitude, then sudo aptitude install fglrx
alkisg 2017-01-26 19:41:23
It doesn't, http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty-updates/fglrx
Joral 2017-01-26 19:41:40
ok, then why does apt think it does lol
